Combining beautiful traditional architecture, marvelous beaches and lively meeting spots, and easily approached from Pireus port, Serifos offers the most of the archetypal Cycladic ambience in quite small size. Loved by artists, architects and intellectuals, the island has not surrendered to mass tourism and the majority of the beaches are unspoiled, without beach bars and umbrellas.
The white-washed Chora (main town) with the remains of the Venetian castle on the top of a hill is ideal for evening walks leading from St Konstantinos chapel with amazing views to the Aegean to the picturesque Town Hall piazza with cafes for traditional sweets, raki with honey or meze.
Livadi, the island’s port is the most cosmopolitan spot, with restaurants and café-bars along the promenade.
Mega Livadi, a small village with the remains of the once booming old mines and nice taverns is worth visiting.
Serifos has probably one beach for every day of your vacation! Some of the best ones are popular Psili Amos and Agios Sostis with crystal clear waters, Vagia, Ganema with wild beauty, Sikamia, Lia and Platis Gialos. Make sure you check the wind’s direction before choosing!
